Adidas x Bristol Studios Fall Winter 2018.
From the very first basketball shoe in 1949, to the all conquering shell-toed Superstars of the 1970s, to the unforgettable jerseys designed for the New York Knicks, Golden State Warriors... adidas maintains a strong legacy in the world of basketball. For the second drop in its ongoing relationship with Los Angeles-based Bristol Studio, the two brands draw on this heritage to bring the flair and functionality of the courts to a contemporary fashion environment. The footwear offering takes the form of a new ‘Crazy’ style, available in both low and high-top versions. Inspired in part by the Kobe Bryant KB8 signature shoe, which was later reborn as the Crazy 8, the Bristol Crazy BYW is a street-level refinement of an iconic basketball style. Each version features a blend of premium nubuck or ‘hairy’ leathers and technically-advanced knitted textiles. The high-performance sole replicates the silhouette of early-2000s basketball sneakers, brought up-to-date through the use of BOOST technology. "Growing up in the early 2000s, I was inspired by oversized silhouettes of the day and anything Kobe Bryant did (on or off-the-court). These early loves now manifest in the form of a full basketball kit. The capsule consists of a jersey, shorts, and tracksuit, rooted in my favorite era of style. We used authentic crinkle nylon from that time period to craft the garments. I believe this interpretation is not only nostalgic for those who grew up in that era but educational for the those now being introduced to it once they step into the Bristol Studio x adidas Originals pieces." – Bristol Studio Creative Director, Luke Tadashi. The accompanying apparel is equally reverent to recent adidas basketball history. Luke Tadashi, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Bristol Studio, offers a refined take on styles that began life in the sporting arena and found a new popularity in early-2000s hip-hop culture. The Tearaway Pant is a sophisticated take on the classic basketball snap off pant, while the Warm Up Track Top and Shooting Tee also strip court-side apparel down to their minimalist essentials. Each item is rendered in tonal shades of light brown, white and onyx, as are the two most game-ready pieces: a basketball jersey with Bristol Studio logo and a pair of loose-fitting, co-branded shorts.

About Adidas Originals.
Since Adidas has been around for nearly a hundred years the brand has undoubtedly evolved over time. Yet, the company that originally caught people’s attention through creating Olympic medal winning sports shoes has managed to maintain a classic athletic style, firmly positioning itself as a go to brand for sport as well as style. Adidas’s history begins in 1924 with two German brothers and a washroom. The Adidas founder Adi Dassler and Rudi Dassler began producing shoes in their mother’s laundry room in the small town of Herzogenaurach, Germany. The desire was to create the ultimate sport footwear for athletes around the world. From here the brothers began the Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik (Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory) which was to be the birth of the Adidas shoe brand. Taking the classic trefoil logo that used to represent all Adidas products, in 1997 the Adidas originals range was created to encompass the brand’s heritage products. It includes some of Adidas’s most memorable and most loved trainers such as the Spezial and Superstar range. Since the brand has grown on to modernizing sportswear under the originals category, collaboration with designer fashion houses and namesake brands. The collaboration with Alexander Wang is a prime example of Adidas’s modern approach to sports fashion.
