About Puma & Han Kjobenhavn.

Puma started with modest perseverance. The journey began with two brothers with a talent for making sports performance enhancing shoes. Rudolf and Adolf Dassler founded Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory in 1924 Their first major break was in the 1936 Olympics when world class athletes sported Dassler spikes and won gold medals. Puma was founded by Rudolf Dassler in 1948 and the assets from old business were divided equally between the brothers. The same year, Puma also launched its first football boot- The Atom. Puma’s first major contribution to the football world was in 1952 when it released the Super Atom- first football boot with screw in studs. In the later years, the company developed enhanced version called Brazil. This attained international glory when the Brazilian team won the 1958 World Cup in Sweden sporting Puma shoes. Recently PUMA engages in exciting lifestyle collaborations with renowned designers such as STAPLE, STAMPD and TRAPSTAR bringing innovative to the lifestyle landscape.

First conceived in 2008 in Copenhagen, Denmark, Han Kjøbenhavn initially started as a sunglasses line. After immediate success, lifelong friends Tim Hancock and Jannik Davidsen quickly expanded their brand and launched their first apparel line in 2009. Aimed at men, the line follows the designers’ Danish ideology, simple but innovative pieces with a clean Scandinavian aesthetic. Almost as popular as the collections themselves, are the seasonal videos the team conceives to showcase them. Short, offbeat, and effective, the videos alone have gained Han Kjøbenhavn some much-deserved attention, defining the brand as anything but conventional. Again building on their formula of classic design and quality craftsmanship, in 2012 Han Kjøbenhavn opened a store in Copenhagen, followed recently by a second location in SoHo, New York City. With a strong following already, the retail spaces have proven to be popular and continued to grow Han Kjøbenhavn’s position as a standout in contemporary design.
